About
JUNCTION X KYUTECH 2026 is a student-driven global tech event and the first local edition in Japan of JUNCTION, the international hackathon born in Finland, held with official support from JUNCTION HQ. The event will take place from September 25–27, 2026, at GYMLABO, Kyutech Tobata Campus. The theme of the event is “INTERACTIVE WORLD — Hack the World Interface.” Participants are invited to hack the interfaces between people and systems, and between systems and the real world, and build products that do not end on the screen but interact with the world. Participants can choose one of three tracks:
Hack Extreme Environments (Space as Constraint) Hack Connected Everywhere Hack the Physical World
The event is open to university students, developers, designers, and planners interested in global hackathons. Teams may have up to four members, and solo applications are welcome. The official language of the event is English. Event sessions are conducted in English, while team discussions may be held in any language. Participation is free of charge. Meals and snacks will be provided during the event. The Grand Prize is 200,000 JPY and a Golden Ticket. Intellectual property rights remain with each team, and JUNCTION X KYUTECH does not claim any rights to the projects created during the event.
